SJ,

1.) What if I have a digital camera that can take video? How can you compress it it for free? Not sure if they can answer it but i am dying to know thx

Check out iSquint: http://www.isquint.org/ and FFMPEGX: http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ for compressing footage. I recommend .mp4 with h.264 encoding. (depending on the frame-size and purpose, you want about 400-650kbps video datarate for streaming, and can go way higher for full frame/higher quality video)

2) Does Dean have advice on no-cost video editors /compressors you can download? (I am on a mAC)

I recommend iMovie, if you’re on Mac — it might already be installed, and it has a compressor — see http://freevlog.org for video instructions on compressing video “the right way”.
