AEE 2008: Day 3 - Porno Immersion

I must interrupt your regularly scheduled AEE updates to give you the news that The Bi Apple was one of four films nominated for the GayVN award for Best Bisexual Video. Buck Angel’s “Buckback Mountain” got nods for Best Specialty Release and Best Alternative Release, which is historic and awesome, because he’s a man with a pussy and the gay porn world is so friggin cock-centric. And if I can figure out the financials, I’ll be there for it. Oh, but first: YAY!

This morning, as I did my first lap around the convention floor, my very first picture was of this sign, which put me in a bit of a foul mood:

Yay, no fake tits! A company (Kick Ass Pictures) promoting natural bodies! Oh wait, that second part is sketchy and fucked up. Oh porno, there are so very many things I loathe about you.

Now that I’ve warmed you up a little to pictures of creepy things, I give to you this following picture.

Um, what?! Those machines are supposedly teeth-whitening machines. They are extremely creepy!! What are they doing at this convention? Why are people trying them out? Agggggh.

In addition to the fact that alcohol is not allowed on the floor of the convention, nudity is not allowed. Why, yes, this is a porno convention, and you can totally see big shiny HDTV screens showing porno, but there can’t be actual live nudity, which is defined as exposure of nipples and/or genitals. This company had a clever workaround (many strippers do this too in clubs with the same anti-nudity laws) - flesh colored nipple pastie makeup. Convincing!

I spent a decent part of the afternoon at the AbbyWinters.com booth, where cute all-natural Aussie girls did yoga and hung out in cotton panties while not wearing makeup. They are having a series of Celebrity Directors do short softcore scenes with the girls. Today Jamye Waxman did some directing, and then Nina Hartley had a turn. I’m excited that it’ll be much more low key, since no fans are allowed. Also, I’m developing more and more of a thing for the folks who run sex toy companies. They really are a different species than many of the porn people.
